if you go back to the earliest appearances of Chiba... he is introduced in ep138 i believe... he's not really chubby, just a bit bigger than average. but he does suddenly balloon up )heh heh heh( solar balloon in this episode... ;) in the 200's or 300's i believe. in episode 847 he does look much bigger than he was in the 700's. but i must say he is CRAZY thinner in these two episodes as well. so he is capable of controlling his weight, he's just a little too lazy to do it regularly. :D

I know it's a show, but Chiba's crush is kinda a bitch.

She never admits to knowing him before. Even though she could - it doesn't mean they HAVE to date.

She makes him get healthier, not for his health, but for what the other girls are saying. She uses facts about high blood pressure and stuff to get him to lose weight. Now, he's able to run around at crime scenes and stuff.

Then manipulates him to get fatter because those same girls are lusting after him.

When all of that could have been avoided if she just talked to him. He can still be at a healthy weight while dating her which will make the other girls back off.

In the end, he's choosing to eat random stuff that a stranger sends to his house, so he's to fault, but she's very manipulative.

Also, how can he recognize handwriting but not a face?

I know it's a show, but this part of the episode annoyed me.
